Myrna Lee Moody Reed died suddenly Dec. 6, 2013. She was born in Boise, Idaho July 9, 1937 to James M. Moody and Cheryl DeMott Moody. She attended Boise schools and graduated from Boise High School in 1955. She met and married Harry Reed in 1956 and later moved to Oregon. They had two sons, Michael G. Reed (Traci) and Douglas L. Reed (Tammy).
She had many interesting jobs, including school librarian, scale attendant for a lumber company, bank employee, and forecaster for the National Weather Service in Washington state and Baker, Ore. She retired from Marvin Windows Co. in Baker in 2000. Harry died in 1998 and in 2001 she moved to Grants Pass, Ore. and Lake Havasu City, to live with her sister, Barbara. They made Arizona their permanent home in 2003. She was an active member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City and also volunteered at Interagency Food Bank.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, James Moody. She is survived by her sons; and grandsons, Adrian, Brett and Jordan all of Oregon; her sister, Barbara Pollard, of Lake Havasu City and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family and friends as well as her “church family” will all miss her greatly.
A Memorial service to celebrate Myrna’s life will be take place Jan. 4, 2014 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, or other charity of your choice.
