Robert Allen Midkiff, of Concho, Apache County, Arizona peacefully passed away on December 15, 2013 in St. Johns, Apache County, Arizona at the age of 89. Robert was born on Christmas Eve December 24, 1923 to his parents the late, Jacob Irvin and Margaret Ethel (Ross) Midkiff in Mt. Vernon, Knox County, Ohio.
He is survived by his children, Robert Midkiff of Show Low, Arizona, Merrily Lathrop (Vince) of St. Johns, Arizona, Melody Blake of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Scott Midkiff, Laura Donavan (Adrian), James Midkiff (Alissa); great-grandchildren, Katelyn Midkiff, Emily Midkiff, Ambry Midkiff, Madelyn Donavan and Carissa Donavan.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and a son, Richard Midkiff.
Memorial services are pending at this time but will be held at a later date at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Show Low.

Robert Allen Midkiff, 89, of Concho died peacefully Dec. 15, 2013, in St. Johns. Robert was born Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1923, to the late Jacob Irvin and Margaret Ethel (Ross) Midkiff in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
Bob was raised in Miami, then moved to Fort Grant, where he attended grade school, then to Phoenix, where he graduated from Phoenix Central High School. Following high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served in the Pacific Theater. He was later honorably discharged from his time in the service and moved to California to further his education.
Bob had planned to further develop his electrical skills at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but felt God calling him to the ministry and instead attended La Sierra College in Riverside, Calif., receiving degrees in theology and education; and where also he met and married the love of his life, Alice Prout, who preceded him in death July 2009.
Following his graduation, Bob accepted a call from the Arizona Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. In his years of service to the Lord, Bob presented the Gospel and taught at Thunderbird SDA Elementary School, Holbrook Indian Mission School, Tempe SDA Elementary School and Kailua Mission School, plus filling other positions for the Church in the Southwest.
He is survived by his children, Robert Midkiff of Show Low, Merrily Lathrop (Vince) of St. Johns, Melody Blake of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren: Scott Midkiff, Laura Donavan (Adrian), James Midkiff (Alissa); great-grandchildren: Katelyn Midkiff, Emily Midkiff, Ambry Midkiff, Madelyn Donovan and Carissa Donovan.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, and son Richard Midkiff.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Show Low.
