Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Carol Vasquez January 9, 1940 - December 13, 2013 Funeral services for Carolina “Carol” Juliana Vasquez, age 73, of Safford, will be conducted Saturday, December 21, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the Desert Springs Community Fellowship by Pastor David Chapman and Ernesto Llamas. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery. Carol Vasquez passed away peacefully at her residence Friday, December 13, 2013, after a valiant fight with a chronic illness. She was born January 9, 1940, in Antonito, Colorado, to Juan and Eulalia Chavez Romero. Carol was a loving wife, mother, “nana”, sister and friend. All her nieces and nephews best knew her as Auntie Carol the one who always cooked with love. Carol loved the Lord with all her heart; she was a prayer warrior and strong Godly Woman. Carol was also a faithful friend and a true servant always willing to give to others. Carol is survived by: her loving husband of 53 years, Alfonso Vasquez; her four children, Larry Vasquez, Mark (Cecilia) Vasquez, Nora (Richard) Gann, Jimmy Vasquez and spiritual daughter, Lupe (Tommy) Urrea; her four grandchildren, Sally (Logan) King, Martin (Summer) Delgado, Anthony Bracamonte and Jimmy Michael Vasquez; and her nine great- grandchildren. She is also survived by: her siblings, Rumaldo (Stella) Romero, Elcira (Daniel) Gray, Juan (Elena) Romero, Bonifacio (Margie) Romero, Albert (Cindy) Romero and Rosie (Armando) Carrillo. Carol was preceded in death by: her parents, Juan and Eulalia Romero. Family will receive friends Saturday morning, December 21, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., at the Desert Springs Community Fellowship.
