DELGADO, Arturo L. (Tudie)

Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Arturo "Tudie" Delgado April 8, 1933 - December 13, 2013 Arturo L. Delgado or "Tudie" as he was known by all, age 80, of Solomon, entered into eternal rest early Friday morning, December 13, 2013, at the Haven Health of Safford surrounded by his loving family. Tudie was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on April 8, 1933, the son of Angelita Lucero and Ricardo Delgado. He was one of six sons born unto this union. In 1954, Tudie married the love of his life, Patricia Rios, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton August 7th of that same year and they were blessed with four children. Throughout his lifetime, he dedicated much of his time to providing all that he could for his family. Tudie labored at the Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation for thirty-four years, working in the smelter division as a supervisor until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement, he could often be found putting a line in the water at the river or calling bingo at the American Legion Post #95 in Solomon. Tudie’s love for his family was always apparent and he considered it his privilege to be a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a parishioner at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Parish in Solomon. Tudie leaves to mourn: his three daughters, Eleanor Matt (Patrick), Lillian “DeeDee” Chavez and Lisa Bejarano(Vincent); two brothers, Louie Delgado and Pelon Delgado; six grandchildren; John Martinez, Eric Martinez, Brittnie Montez, Mikael Bejarano, Ana-Lisa Tolman & Devan Paul Delgado; nine great-grandchildren. Tudie was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Delgado; his son, Paul Anthony Delgado; his mother and father, Angelita and Ricardo Delgado; and three brothers, Lico, Armando and Benny.
