Willcox Range News, Willcox, Arizona Thursday, December 19, 2013 Jean L. Briggs, of Willcox died Dec. 15, 2013 in Tucson at the age of 76. She was born in Plainview, Texas on Sept. 29, 1937 to John Gammon and Grace Jennings Gammon. Jean was a member of the J-Six Church of Christ, was very active in her church, a former member of the Cowbelles and the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a part owner of Briggs-Eggers Apple Orchard. On August 31, 1957 in Lazbuddie, Texas she married Joe Briggs who survives her. Jean is also survived by her children, Melissa (Lance) Eggers of Willcox, Melinda (Fred) Andrews of Kendal, Ont., Canada and Dave (Sue) Briggs of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and her grandchildren, Janelle Andrews, Daniel Andrews, Stephanie Andrews, Noah Briggs, Nate Briggs and Ethan Briggs. Her brother, Johnny Gammon, and sister, Marianna Gammon, both of Tucson also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westlawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Willcox United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her name to Peppi’s House, TMC Hospice, 2715 N. Wyatt Dr., Tucson, AZ 85712.
