James Russell Frahm, 66, passed away peacefully Nov. 2, 2013 at his residence in Chloride. James was fondly known as "Motorcycle Jim" when he resided in Alpine, Texas from 1975 to 1993. He then moved to Chloride, where he enjoyed the beautiful mountain climate and friendly people until his death.
James proudly served his country in the First Cavalry Unit as a paratrooper and helicopter mechanic in Vietnam. He would parachute in to repair and recover downed military helicopters and their crews, and was awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial fights when performing Medivac operations.
James is survived by his mother, Anna Frahm of Victoria, Texas; siblings, Harold J. Frahm of Granbury, Texas, John S. Frahm (Marcy) of Munds Park, Ariz., Deborah Frahm of Stuart, Va., Rebecca Garza of Ft. Davis, Texas, and SuzAnne (Thomas) Kroll of Victoria, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Interment is at the Chloride Cemetery, located on a gentle slope on the west side of town, with beautiful views of the Cerbat Mountains and the wide Mohave Desert valley.
