Edward Charles Winters, Sr., passed away at 8:16 p.m., Dec. 15, 2013 at the Polidori House. He was born Oct. 1, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa, to Vernon and Buelah Winters.
Eddie, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, married Tara Leigh Black on Sept. 17, 2007, at Sherwood Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Eddie had a unique personality, which all that knew him will never forget. He was a man who stood up for what he believed in and had the biggest heart any man could have. His charming good looks and his rebel attitude were his attributes, among many others.
Prior to Eddie’s illness, he was a construction worker and a plumber for over 15 years. He loved working on cars, watching wrestling and especially liked NASCAR racing. We all love and miss you like crazy Eddie.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Tara Leigh Winters; children, Amber Skye, Landon Charles, Keri Ann, Edward Charles Jr. and Natasha Lynn; step daughters, Karmyn Alexis Bartlett, Sabithia Nicole Bartlett and Tabitha Lynn Bartlett; grandchildren, Maelee Ann Garcia, Emily Lee Carson, Evan James Winters and Leigha Lynn Winters; sisters, Mary (Marv) Remley, Linda Allen, Barbara (Richard) Tuthill, Kathleen (Paul) Gulick and Margaret Winters as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and his three brothers, David John Winters, Gary Vernon Winters and Frank Earl Winters.
