Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Virginia Torres went home to be with our Lord Dec. 1, 2013. She was born May 31, 1915, to Bonifacio and Tomasa Solaiza in Amado, Ariz. After moving to Parker she met and married Federico Puente Torres. They had one son Gustavo Torres and two daughters, Marlene Jimenez and Irene Davis. Virginia was blessed with 14 grandchildren: Ismael, Lydia, George, Laurie and Manny Jimenez; Fred Noblitt; Radley, Robert and Freddy Torres; Mary Reed, Sirena Molina; Michael and Augustine Alanis; and Rick Bowlin. She also had 48 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She also had a special nephew Matthew Vindiola from Phoenix; he called her every week and spoiled her in so many ways. Virginia was a longtime member of the Apostolic Church for 76 years. On Dec. 15, 1937, Virginia, her brother Luis Solaiza Sr. and Celerina Salinas were the first members to be baptized at the Apostolic Church. Her parents, brothers Pablo and Luis Solaiza, two sisters, Rita Kyle and Conception Martinez, her husband Federico, son Gustavo Torres and daughter Marlene Jimenez, precede her in death. Daughter Irene Davis of Parker survives her. She had many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Celebration of Life was at the Apostolic Church Dec. 14
