Doris Mahagan, 87, died March 3, 2004, at the Covenant Hospice Residence in Pensacola, FL.
A native of Central New York, she enjoyed the retired life in Sun City, AZ from 1972-1999. She has lived with her daughter in Pensacola for the past 5 years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Kate Gilbert and devoted son-in-law, Tom Fukida; grandsons, Carlos A. Diaz (Carolina) and David R. Diaz (Kristen); great grandsons, Alberto and Francisco Diaz. Also, Carlos Diaz (Judy) and Juan Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, The Reverend James E. Mahagan and her son, Timothy Mahagan.
Doris graduated from the Cazenovia Seminary (NY) and Syracuse University (B.S. 1938). She was a loving mother and devoted clergy-wife who served in several Episcopal churches with her husband in the diocese of Central New York. Doris and James were part of the founding of All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church in Sun City, AZ where her memorial service was held on Monday, March 15, 2004.
She enjoyed golf, travel and parties, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends from all over the country. Many thanks are due to the Covenant Hospice where she received such excellent, loving care. Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.
