Miguel Vidal of Prescott, Ariz., born Jan. 18, 1943, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Dec. 24, 2013.
Miguel grew up in the town of Chandler, Ariz. He graduated from Chandler High School in 1962 and immediately enlisted in the United State Army, where he served as an air traffic controller. He attended Arizona State University and studied to be an industrial arts teacher. Miguel owned and operated Mike's Ornamental Iron and General Welding shop in Gilbert, Ariz., for over 30 years. In the most recent years, Miguel and his wife Cynthia Vidal have resided in Prescott, Ariz.
Miguel was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Miguel is survived by his wife Cynthia of Prescott; daughters Rachelle Nunez (husband Frankie; children Andrea, Lisiana, Adam, Michael); Angie Grodecki (husband James; children, Annastacia, Bianca, Casimir), and Christina Gonzales (husband Tommy; children Reanna, Saundra, Sienna); stepdaughter Kelley McNaughton; and son Loren Johns (wife Joni; child Sydney). In total, Miguel had 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren (Anthony, Beatrice and David). He is also survived by sisters Evah Vidal Baez, Liz Vidal Tejeda, Jenny Vidal Salzman, Esther Vidal, Anita Vidal Rosales, Rachel Vidal Cedillo; and many nieces and nephews, including nephew Phillip Vidal Westbrooks, who he looked upon as his younger beloved brother and son.
Miguel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Miguel and Carmen Vidal of Chandler, and brothers Robert and Avel Vidal.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225; 480-963-6351. A celebration of Miguel's life will be announced at the service, which will follow immediately thereafter.
