Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, December 29, 2013 David Allen Enz, 72, of Flagstaff, died Nov. 30, 2013. He was born June 12, 1941, in Minnesota. Memorial services will be Friday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m., at the Christ Church of Flagstaff, 3475 E. Soliere. Arrangements are by Norvel Owens Mortuary, www.norvelowensmortuary.com. ~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, January 05, 2014 David Allen Enz, 72 of Flagstaff, Arizona passed away at home on the morning of November 30, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. He fought a long and hard battle with colon cancer. David was born on June 12, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN. As a young boy his family moved out west to California, and then settled in Tucson, AZ. David was a member of the Tucson Boys Choir performing extensively throughout north America and Europe. David served 6 years in the United States Air Force. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman Conductor for 10 years. In 1965 David graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science and then later obtained his Masters Degree. In 1969 David went to work for the City of Tucson Police Department as a patrolman. In 1970 he went to work for the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) as the Assistant Chief of Fire and Security. Two years later he was promoted to Chief and then to Manager of Operations. David retired from TAA in October of 1994 but continued serving on the Airport Council International (ACI). David and Dixie moved to Flagstaff in November of 2001 to be closer to their grandchildren. David is survived by his wife, Dixie Enz, his children, Gary (Kim) of Flagstaff, and Kathleen (Christian) of Tucson, his grandchildren, Connor, Alison, Gavin and Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents Rigi and Paul Enz. The family of David Enz would like to give a public thank you to Francis Gurley and the hospice workers at Compassus who assisted us in fulfilling David's last wish to die in the comfort of his own home. A celebration of life will be held on January 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Christ's Church of Flagstaff.
