SIMS, Albert John


15 Apr 1890 - 6 Dec. 1964 Albert John Sims, 74, native of Pima and retired employee of the Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co. at Globe, died Dec. 6, 1964, in his home here. Mr. Sims moved to Globe in 1907 where he was employed by the copper company for 45 years. Retiring in 1958, he moved to Gilbert. Active in Boy Scout work, Mr. Sims was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He is a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and filled a mission for the church in the Central States Mission in 1910. Surviving are his widow, Ella; eight sons, Kelton A. of Gilbert; Oswold J. of Salt Lake City; Eugene S. of Inspiration; P. Keith of Inspiration: Marden D. of Tahoe Valley, Calif.; Joseph F. of Dallas; Dale A. of Scottsdale; George L. of Sandy, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Yeteve S. Pace of Gilbert; a brother, Oscar L., and a sister, Mrs. Susan Cluff, both of California; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services tomorrow at the Gilbert Ward Chapel, LDS church. Bishop Warren Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Mesa Cemetery. Meldrum Mortuary, Mesa. The Arizona Republic Monday, Dec. 7, 1964.
