Scottsdale -- Mrs. Janet Brown Johnson, 88, former chairman of the Red Cross in Colorado, died yesterday, Dec. 1, 1964, in a Phoenix hospital. Mrs. Johnson, 8736 E. Cactus Wren, was a social worker for the Shrine in Colorado before moving to Scottsdale eight years ago. The Al Kaly Shrine Temple in Pueblo, Colo., presented her with an enscribed gold plate for her work on behalf of crippled children. She served on the Colorado Board for Crippled Children 25 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the PEO and Order of Eastern Star in Walsenburg, Colo. She was born in Springfield, Illinois. Services will be conducted tomorrow in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale. The Rev. Herbert Landis of the Valley Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Two nieces, Mrs. A. G. Campbell of Scottsdale and Mrs. Fred Warner of Balboa City in Panama and a grandniece, Janet Brown Campbell of Scottsdale, survive.
