Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Saturday, March 14, 2009 Charles Edward Dieffenbach, age 84, died at home in Lake Montezuma, Ariz,, on March 10, 2009 after a long illness. He was born on Dec. 5, 1924, in Sayre, Pa., raised in Colley, Pa., by his parents, Charles Deforest and Winifred Dieffenbach, and moved to Arizona in 1963. He was a graduate of Harpur College, SUNY Binghamton, NY. Mr. Dieffenbach served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator during World War II. His career as an electronics buyer included working 20 years for General Electric Company, as well as working for Honeywell and ITT Courier. Surviving are his wife, Norma; three sons, Brian (Lisa), Sterling, Va., Bruce (Susan), Phoenix,; Eric (Linda), Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Diane (Kevin), Prescott Valley; eight grandchildren; and one brother, John Harold Dieffenbach of Newport, R.I. A celebration of his life will be held at the Beaver Creek Ranch House, Lake Montezuma, Ariz. at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009. Private burial service at Phoenix Memorial Park.
