Vyonne Lyn Patch passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 in Phoenix, Ariz., sheltered in the arms of the Lord and surrounded by family and friends.
She was born in Parker, Ariz. Oct. 1, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Patch, Sr.
Vyonne grew up in Parker on the Colorado River Indian Reservation. After graduating Parker High in 1966, she relocated to San Francisco, Calif., where she graduated from Munson Business College in 1967 and went to work for American Insurance Company.
In the early 1970s, she returned to Parker and began work for C.R.I.T. as a secretary for the Tribes' Alcoholism Program. At the time of her death, she was the Supervisor of the C.R.I.T. Word Processing Department.
She gave over 40 years of service to the tribes, many years mentoring employees and tribal members and also served on various tribal boards and committees, including the Mohave Elders Committee. She was truly happiest when she was serving others.
Those who came in contact with Vyonne know she was a strong, amazing woman and an inspiration to many.
Her enduring qualities were her dedicated loyalty, her strong faith and her selfless giving to others. She was kind and soft-spoken with an elegant grace and beauty inside and out that shone through her captivating smile. She always took the time to listen and offer her guidance and prayer to those who crossed her path.
So many were blessed by her presence and enduring love. We will cherish our memories of her and take comfort in knowing she will continue to watch over us in Heaven.
In addition to her parents Harry and Dorothy Patch, Sr., she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rayford and Martin Patch.
Survivors include her son: Scott Patch; her grandchild: Jasmine Coffin; her siblings Maryetta Patch, Harry Patch Jr., Dennis Patch, Mara Patch, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
