LEONORA, Joseph (Joe)


Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Published on January 1, 2014 - Joseph Leonora, 77, of Parker, Ariz., ended his journey here on earth Friday Dec. 20, 2013. He was born in Los Angeles, to the late Jimmy and Vera Leonora on Jan. 15, 1936. Joe grew up helping his family with their market liquor store that they had on the back of their property in Eagle Rock. He then owned a gas station, Joe's Flying A, for several years. His next adventure was working for National Poultry as a manager over the warehouse and operations for 25 years. He then retired and moved to Parker, Ariz., where he filled his time working for Parker Ford Motors. Joe had a passion for cars and off road racing. In his younger years he loved to street race in Van Nuys, Calif. After moving to Parker he took up off road racing and joined an off road racing team. In his later years he looked forward to attending Barrett Jackson with his son Jim every year, where they made many wonderful memories. Joe was a loving father to his two sons. He always made the time to care for Donny, which was one of his special qualities. Joe loved both of his sons deeply, and they each held a special place in his heart. Joe treasured Parker. He loved the simple life of living on the river, and surrounded himself with many special friends. Joe always loved having his faithful dog Rocko by his side. Joe is survived by two children James Joseph Leonora and Donald Rand Leonora. Joe is also survived by his four grandchildren: Jolie Chastain, Jena Braunwalder, Jonathan Leonora, Gavin Leonora, and his five great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at Grace Assembly of God, in Parker, on Jan. 4, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers send donations to Donny Leonora at Olive Branch New Beginnings, 4430 E.
