DIAZ, Antonio Joseph (Joe)

Antonio Joe Diaz, age 78, Phoenix, AZ., passed away June 3, 2000. Joe was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, June 8, 1921. His family moved to Arizona in 1926. Joe served his country in WWII. He worked for the City of Phoenix Water Department and retired in 1984. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Although not a life long Phoenician, he loved to reminisce about growing up in the valley and the changes he had seen along the way. Joe will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to many. He was preceded in this passing by his wife Carol and son Joe Jr (Jody) and daughter Juanita Diaz. He is survived by his brother Carlos Diaz and sister Ann Rone, his children, Dorothy McMillian, Johnnie Diaz, Patricia Gillespie, Joyce Leon, James Diaz, Rita Larios, Randy Diaz and Beverly Diaz; 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Graveside Wednesday June 7, 2000 at 9:30 am at Sunwest Cemetery 15399 Grand Ave, El Mirage, Az.
