Eckert resident, Clayton Robert Ring, passed away after a lengthy illness Dec. 27, 2013, at his residence in Eckert, Colo. He was 84.
A celebration of Clayton’s life will take place at a later date in Lake Havasu City.
Clayton Robert Ring was born to Emanuel and Margret (Janssen) Ring Sept. 29, 1929, in Gregory, S.D. He spent his childhood and attended public schools in Spencer, Neb. Clayton furthered his education at St. John’s Lutheran College in Winfeld, Kan., and Mohave Community College in Lake Havasu City.
On Aug. 26, 1967, Clayton married the love of his life, Rosalee Hughes, in Denver, Colo. The couple resided in Lake Havasu City, for 37 years before moving to Eckert, in 2009. The Rings had the honor of celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary this year.
Clayton, a retired HVAC tech and barber, enjoyed reading Western books, traveling in his RV, golfing and watching all types of sports. More importantly, he loved and cherished his family.
Clayton was employed with the Lake Havasu Unified School District 1 for 15 years when he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Lake Havasu City Elks Lodge 2399 and a former member of the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church also in Lake Havasu.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosalee Ring, of Eckert; one step-son and his wife, Norman (Shirley) Hughes, of Austin, Colo.; one brother, Richard Ring, of Iowa; and a sister, Evelyn Favre, of Texas. Clayton is further survived by four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Clayton’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
