The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, January 04, 2014 David R. Young, 78 of Cottonwood, passed away on January 1, 2014. He was born on September 3, 1935 in Phoenix to Franklin Otis Young and Betty Riggs. David served his country in the Army. He worked as an engineer for Mountain Bell (U.S. West). He was a volunteer at Verde Valley Medical Center, a member of the ELKS and the Communication Workers of America. David will be deeply missed. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. David was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Young. He is survived by son TJ Young of Allen, TX; daughter Jane Freedle of Cottonwood; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held in Kingman, Arizona.
