Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory, Mesa, Arizona Earl George Cook August 12, 1934 - December 26, 2013 Earl George Cook of Mesa, Arizona passed away on December 26, 2013. He was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin in August 1934, the son of Gilbert and Virginia Cook. He is survived by his brother, Ralph, and his sister, Virginia Lee, also residents of Mesa, Arizona. He was married to Jean Louise Hueble in 1953 and they had three children, Deborah, Roger and Diane. Earl will be fondly remembered by his three children, his step-daughter, Sarah Baker, and each of their families. He moved his family to Arizona in 1962 where he continued working as a master baker. He worked for Arizona State University and several resort hotels, including the Safari and the Hyatt Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was most famous for his pastries and his custom, specialty breads. He also created beautiful designer cakes. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in May 1986 and was a faithful and loyal member. Since moving into his new home in Sunland Village East in 2005 he has been a member of the Eastridge Ward in Mesa, Arizona. He was active in the LDS Church, which he served in a number of ways. He very much enjoyed being a home teacher and bringing comfort to others. He was very proud and felt honored to have performed in the Easter Pageant at the Mormon Temple in Mesa, Arizona. His activities included swimming, fishing, and travel. He always visited the Mormon Temple in each of his travel locations and enjoyed visiting with church members in other states and, especially those in International locations. His hobbies included collecting model trains and classic cars. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by family, his cherished friend, Kathy Piha, and many other close friends. The family will receive guests for Visitation at 10:00am and Services will begin at 11:00am on January 3, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eastridge Ward, 3025 S. Hawes Road in Mesa, Arizona. Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street in Mesa, Arizona.
