POLANEC, Ferdinand (Fred)

Ferdinand (Fred) Polanec, 78, passed away March 4, 2004, at Hearthstone of Mesa. Fred came to the US from Germany in 1954 and lived in Cary, Illinois for 43 years then moved to Mesa, AZ in 1997. He was the Head Custodian at Maplewood School in Cary Illinois and retired in 1994. His favorite pastime was his puppies and RV traveling. He is survived by his wife Ruth of 26 years, his daughter Monika Graves of Baltimore MD, his stepdaughters Kathleen Buschell of Scottsdale AZ, Susan Roehrig of Mesa AZ, and Patricia Richter of Atlanta GA, his son Ralph Polanec of Washington DC, stepson Robert Griswold of El Mirage AZ, his sister Emilia Kuedman of Germany, Brothers Emil of Exeter CA (Diane), Bill of Portersville CA (Shirley), 9 grandchildren; Steve and Aaron Buschell, Amanda, Patrick & Joseph Roehrig, Amy Fischer, Bryan Richter, Rob & Tom Griswold and One great grandson Zachary Fischer. The family members that predeceased Fred are his son Michael, his parents Anna and Franc Polanec, his sister Anna Rozman and his brother Franc Polanec Jr. Services were held Monday, March 8, 2004, at Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main St., Mesa. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Phoenix, 1661 E. Camelback Rd., #200, Phoenix, AZ 85016 or Velda Rose United Methodist Church of Mesa.
