Shirley Hayward Wilcox left us to be with Jesus, Thursday, January 2, 2014. A graduate of Marblehead, Massachusetts High School and Miss Farmer's School of Cooking in Boston. She met her husband, Robert, through his sister, a classmate a the Fannie Farmer School of Cooking in Boston, Massachusetts. They married April 12, 1947 and for the next 66 years were inseparable, moving around the country following family and jobs from Massachusetts to New Hampshire to Washington and Kansas until finally their hearts led them to Yuma, Arizona.
Shirley leaves her husband, Bob; son, Robert Jr. (Sandra), Fred (Susan); daughter, Karen (Dave) Reid; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her wit and charm will be missed by all who loved her and she was loved by everyone. A church service will be held at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church in Yuma on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church and Yuma Hospice.
