Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Pearl Altaha (July 27, 1956 - January 5, 2014) Pearl Altaha entered into rest on January 5, 2014 in Whiteriver, Arizona. She was born on July 27, 1956 to Jimmie and Audrey Altaha. Pearl was raised in Whiteriver. She spent a majority of her youth on the reservation, but was later sent to Bakersfield, California to live with a foster family through the Mormon placement program. Upon returning to Whiteriver Pearl attended Alchesay High School, where she graduated in 1974. She later moved to Oklahoma where she received her AA in Business at Oklahoma State University. It was in Oklahoma that she met and married David Wahkinney. They then had two handsome sons together David Wahkinney Jr. and Elijah Wahkinney. Pearl and her family later returned to Whiteriver, Arizona. During which time she held several job descriptions under the tribe, with housing authority and the White Mountain legal department. During her free time Pearl enjoyed to bake, cook, read, and watch football. She was a diehard, devoted football fan. Her teams were the OU Sooners, and the Dallas Cowboys. Pearl had an amazing sense of humor and was very, very intelligent. She was never afraid to express her feelings and share what was on her mind. Througout her entire life, she never gave up on her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. And she always kept the faith. She is survived by sons: David Whakinney Jr. and Elijah Wahkinney, Mother: Audrey Altaha, Brothers: Ronnie Altaha, Jefferey Altaha, Bryan Altaha, Mark T. Altaha, Timothy Altaha, Jameson Altaha and Jonathan Johnson Altaha, Sister: Linda S. Gushoney, Bread Aunt: Fannie Altaha, Aunts: Theresa Paxson and Pearlita Johnson, Uncle: Paul Johnson . Pearl was preceded in death by Father: Jimmie Altaha, and brother: Donnie Altaha. Pearl will be brought home to 304 W. Horseshoe Dr. in Whiteriver , for a wake on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM and Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Whiteriver, Az
