Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, February 24, 1926, page 1, col. 3 Death Claims Pioneer Woman Mrs. Ferguson, Resident of Prescott for Nearly Fifty Years, Passes On Mrs. Jesus Ferguson, 75, the widow of W. H. Ferguson and mother of Mrs. Mary Bunte, died at her daughter's house at 151 South Alarcon street at 7:30 o'clock last night, following a lingering illness, during which she was bed-ridden for five and a half years. Coming here nearly half a century ago, Mrs. Ferguson married in Prescott and made this city her home during the greater part of that time. She was well known and highly respected by pioneer residents and greatly loved by all those who came to know her during her long and useful life. Her husband was one of the best known mining men in Arizona and during his lifetime was interested in many properties in this county. His family, among the earliest pioneers, were prominent socially in this community for years, while both Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson were leaders of their generation. Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her only living daughter, Mrs. Bunte, and three grandchildren, Louis Bunte, local attorney, Miss Mary Bunte and William Bunte who is with the Santa Fe. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at the Church of the Sacred Heart. The interment will be in the Citizens' cemetery. Transcriber's note: There is no headstone marking the place of Mrs. Ferguson's burial.
