Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Patsy Blount July 17, 1932 - January 7, 2014 Patsy “Pat” Murl Richard Blount, age 81, of Safford went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon, January 7, 2014, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, with her loving husband Cecil and family by her side. Patsy was born July 17, 1932, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to James and Rose Barriner. In her early years she worked at various jobs. Many of those jobs were in home healthcare. Patsy was a wonderful wife and mother. She met her first husband, Calvin Richard, and they were married on December 4, 1948. They were blessed with eight children and had many happy years together. After Calvin’s passing, Patsy reconnected with an old friend, Cecil Blount. Patsy and Cecil were married on February 5, 2009. Patsy loved her music and received great joy from it. She loved singing at home and at church with her husband, Cecil, and son, Lyn. Patsy is survived by: her husband, Cecil Blount; her children, Tim Richard (Jean), of Roseburg, Oregon, Robert Lyn Richard (Doris), of Pima, Donna Dison (Victor), of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Mark Richard of Greenwood, Arkansas; her eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Patsy is also survived by: her husband, Cecil’s children, Reba McFadden (Steve), of Mesa, Ruth Guttierez (Mike), of Solomon, Emma Poeling (William), of Safford, and Darlene Ordaz (David), of Safford; his seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren Patsy was preceded in death by: her first husband, Calvin Richard; her three sons, Riley Richard, Donald Richard and Darrell Richard; her daughter, Ramona Richard; and her great-grandson, Triston Kole Griesanauer. Funeral services for Patsy will be conducted Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the First Assembly of God Church of Safford, 924 S. 1st Ave., by Pastor Robert Koch. Concluding services will follow at the Pima Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the First Assembly of God Church of Safford.
