Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, January 12, 2014 - James Matthew Eulberg, 80, passed away Dec. 19, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. He was born June 26, 1933 in Portage, Wis. to Julis and Elizabeth Patton Eulberg. Jim, as he was known to his family and friends, served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He married his wife, Joan Eulberg, June 27, 1960. They were married for 28 years, before her passing in 1988. Jim was a Havasu Pioneer, living in Havasu for 42 years. He was also the founder of the first Wisconsin Days, during the First London Bridge Days. Dad asked one day, “How many people are here from Wisconsin?” Before he knew how many, he just went ahead and ordered 100lbs of brats, and did not have that many leftovers. Jim was an outgoing and friendly man and growing up, his daughter, Lisa, remembers Dad would walk up to any stranger, extend his hand and say “Hi, where are you from?” and could talk to anyone for hours and hours. Jim will be deeply missed and always loved. Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gibbs; grandchildren, Sondi and Mason Gibbs, LoraLee and Megan Macks, Scotty Eardman and Nicole Wentworth; great-grandchildren, Konner, James, Giovani and Karmellow. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan Eulberg, and his twin daughters, Lynn (1993) and Lora (2006). Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 12:00 with Father Chancey Winkler officiating. The Marine Corps League will present Military Honors.
