John Daniel Kosch, age 72, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014, after a short illness. He was born in Salem, Ohio on April 10, 1941. His parents were John and Anna (Kucha) Kosch.
John was a resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. for over 3 years, prior to that he live in Homer, Alaska for 40 years. He moved his family from Ohio to Alaska in 1972. John worked at many different jobs; he crewed on a commercial fishing boat, managed Homer Spit Campground, owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast, an Ice cream Shop, operated K's Concrete and also worked as a realtor.
He loved getting involved with the city of Homer, he served on the city council and the planning commission, even ran for Mayor of Homer and served as president for the Homer Senior Citizen Center.
He was a member of the Pioneers of Alaska, Home Senior Citizen Center, Homer Elks and Bullhead City Elks.
John is survived by lhis wife of 48 years, Nancy; daughter, Tami and son in law Mike Nordin; cousin, Pauline Mehalik and husband Bill; sister-in-law, Eleanor Bartholomew; nieces, Dona Young and Jill Papesh.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. (Arizona time) Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley Ariz.
