The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, January 16, 2014 Carl Holton, 81, of Prescott, Ariz., born Aug. 2, 1926, in Coffeeville, Kan., passed away Jan. 11, 2014. "Gino" Holton August 2, 1926 ~ January 11, 2014 Carl E. "Gino" Holton beloved husband, father and grandpa, passed away January 11, 2014. He was 87 years old. He was born on August 2, 1926 to Leonard and Leona (Phillips) Holton in Coffeyville, Kansas. Gino was a WWII veteran, having served in the United States Coast Guard. He moved to Prescott in 1977, and was co-owner of Inter-Mountain Communications until his retirement. He was one of the early pioneers in solar energy, going 'off the grid' in 1980 with a solar, earth-sheltered home that he designed. He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen and his 3 children, Charles (Sherril), Kenneth and Joy, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
