SHOEMAKER, Michael Lynn

Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Michael Lynn Shoemaker January 1, 1961 - January 3, 2014 Michael earned a nursing degree in the 90's. He had great concern for his patients and their family. Everyone loved him including me, but I liked him and same for him for me. If I had not had a sick child that landed nurse Shoemaker on my doorstep we may never had met. Mike was so funny, you couldn't help but laugh. After years of some dry lines from him I wouldn't laugh at his jokes and then that would turn into laughter. Mike got a job as a computer tech. at Bookmans in Tucson, AZ and we moved the family here. That job did not last and he got a mechanics certificate but could not get a job because he was almost 50. He did save us a lot in repairs so his schooling was still very good to have. He took a security job just to have an income, he had been there just over two years and was planning on applying for a better job this year and I'm sure he would have got one. He was so smart he learned really fast and always at the top of his class. I could say that a job with 0 benefits and low pay contributed to his death, there was no sick or vacation pay, and no health care. So he could get better treatment and time off to get well. I wish he would have sought help Friday the 3rd, it might have been a better outcome. I know he would have if he knew that it would lead to the separation from us. He loved us so much. I looked forward to being with him for years to come. He would look over me like a hawk if I was really ill his nursing skills would be in overdrive. This is a complete shock and really hard to deal with. I love him and miss him and so does Marie. A little girl shouldn't have to lose their daddy.
