The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/17/2014 Gilbert C. Padilla, 81, of Concho, Ariz., died Jan. 10, 2014, in Marana from congestive heart failure. He was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Concho. Gilbert attended Northern Arizona University, worked for Arizona State and Salt River Project. He is survived by his sister, Concie Candelaria of Concho; brothers: Guillermo (Sadie) Padilla of Concho and Alfred (Teresa) Padilla of Springerville; children: Concie (Randy) Hensley of Concho, Daniel (Jo Ann) Padilla of Glendale, Phillip (Ronnie) Padilla of Tempe, Alice (Allen) Loo of Kaneohe, Hawaii, George (Leigh Ann) Padilla of Waiwau, Hawaii, Gavin (Sandra) Padilla of Marana, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Porfirio. A rosary will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at San Rafael Catholic Church in Concho. Memorial luncheon following at the Catholic hall starting at 11 a.m. Marana Mortuary handled arrangements.
