Josephina Calzada Gradillas, 83, of Surprise, Arizona, entered peacefully into our heavenly Father's arms March 15, 2006.
Born November 16, 1922 in Altar, Sonora, Mexico; came to the United States on covered wagon in 1937 and became a US citizen.
On April 1, 1951 she married Roberto C. Gradillas; together they raised 5 children and were married for 37 years until Roberto was taken into the arms of the Lord on May 27th 1988.
She is survived by her four sons Robert Jr. of Cabot, Arkansas; Antonio (Tony) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Israel (Rally) of Peoria; Hector of Glendale & one daughter Frances Murillo of Phoenix. Daughter-in-laws Rosemary of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Rosie of Peoria; Jan of Glendale; son in-law Ray of Phoenix & Brad of Cabot, Arkansas; 10 Grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, Tony Jr., Jennifer, Michael, Justin, Lindsay, Heather, Renee, Nicole and 12 Great grandchildren. She is also, survived by her sister Alicia C. Gradillas; 3 brothers, Angel; Louie & Esteban Calzada all of Arizona.
Visitation with Rosary was at Sunwest Funeral Home 12525 NW Grand Avenue in El Mirage. Funeral service Saturday March 18th, 2006, at Santa Teresita Catholic Church 14016 North Verbena Street in El Mirage. Graveside services at Resthaven Cemetery 6290 West Northern Avenue in Glendale.
