AVERT, Lester Leo

Yuma Sun, Yuma, Arizona - Published in The Yuma Sun on Jan. 22, 2014 - Lester Leo Avert, 84, he was born July 4, 1929 in St. Claire, IL. He passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was a tractor operator and veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. He leaves behind a group of great friends and fellow veterans. He was a very caring and giving person and always helping others in need. A private burial was held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. There will be a celebration of his life, January 25, at 9 a.m. It will be held on the back patio or the American Legion Post 19, where he and his buddies meet and hash out good times.
