Friends Pay Last Tribute To J. F. Wolfe
(From Friday's Daily)
Yesterday's tribute extended James H. Wolfe, the young fireman of the S. F. P. & P., who lost his life in the explosion of his engine Tuesday, was not only a deserving one, but it was likewise a beautiful expression of the esteem he was held in.
Every employee of the shops in this city of the railroad who could possibly be relieved was present, and in addition to these men, President F. M. Murphy, Vice President Drake and several others of the officers of this system attended, showing the regard entertained for the young and faithful employee. Floral tribunes were many.
It was the largest funeral in personal representation ever to take place in this city, and the chapel in Ruffner's parlors was inadequate to accommodate the throng present.
Rev. Francis T. Walker, of the Baptist church officiated, and his eulogy was but a fitting farewell of the man's character and the esteem he was held in during his residence in this city.
Transcriber's note: Burial was in the Citizens Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona.
