JACKSON, Robert Lee

Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, July 13, 1910, page 7, col. 5 First Death In Family Of Thirteen (From Thursday's Daily) Telephone advises from Phoenix last evening at 5 o'clock conveyed the sad news that Robert L. Jackson had passed away at his home near that city from dropsy, which affliction seized him about two months ago. The passing of this well known former resident of Yavapai county, will be received with experiences of sorrow and regret. He was a son of Solomon Jackson and a few years ago moved from Kirkland Valley to the vicinity of Phoenix, where he followed agricultural pursuits. He was a brother of Mrs. J. I. Roberts of this city, Miss Pearl Jackson of Kirkland Valley, Mrs. E. E. Kirkland of Phoenix, Mrs. Harry Clark of Williamson Valley, Lester, C. C., J. W. and Bert Jackson and other brothers and sisters residing in other states. An unusual circumstance attending his death is shown in that he was the first to pass away in a family of thirteen children and was aged about 47 years. Mrs. Roberts and C. C. Jackson will leave this morning for Phoenix to attend the funeral. The father of the deceased is at present in California, at the home of his eldest son, and is in poor health. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the family in the loss of one who was highly regarded in citizenship and also bore an exemplary life. A wife and several small children survive him. Transcriber's note: Mr. Jackson is buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
