Robert Louis
Robert Louis Mueller, 75, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, died on July 22, 2003.
A graduate of Amherst College, he served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. He received his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law where he was on the Law Review. Mr. Mueller was a partner in a large Chicago investment counselling firm for 20 years. Subsequently, he served as Special Counsel to the Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines, and was a Senior Vice President of First Interstate Bank of Arizona. Since 1989 he was a partner, and served as head of the mutual fund operations, of L. Roy Papp & Associates, Phoenix, Arizona. He was a member of the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute for 6 years. Mr. Mueller was President of Arizona Opera Company and Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona, the boards of which he served on for many years. He was also a Trustee of Desert Botanical Garden.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Oakes Mueller, his daughter M. Frances Mueller, and his grandson Robert Andrew Mueller.
A memorial service was held at the Messinger Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, on August 5, 2003.
