Dennis Richard Rowley, 74, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Snowflake died at 4:17 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Franciscan Saint Elizabeth Crawfordsville hospital.
He was born Nov. 12, 1939, in Beloit, Wis. to Nick and Avis (Loftus) Rowley. He married Dee Ann (Devore-Cabell) April 16, 2011 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Columbus, Ohio Temple. She survives.
Mr. Rowley was a commercial paper products company maintenance engineer; worked for the US Postal Service, Cincinnati; and owned Rowley Insurance Agency. He was a graduate of Beloit Wisconsin High School and Arizona State Technical College. His memberships included The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as a temple worker in the Chicago, Illinois Temple. He enjoyed flying his own plane. In his later years enjoyed traveling with his wife to state and national parks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Brad Rowley of Fla.; Jolene (Danny) Barrett, St. Cloud, Fla.; Eryn (Tim) Watson of Chandler; Rebecca Rowley of Mainville, Ohio; sister Jan Mikelson of Beloit, Wis.; brother Jerry (Marry Alice) Rowley of Wakasaw, Wis.; step children: Nancy (Nhan Nguyen) Cabell of Lafayette, Calif.; Karen Cabell of Billings, Mont.; Mark (Megan) Cabell of Centerbrook, Conn.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the Crawfordsville Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1086 North 125 West, Crawfordsville, Ind., with Bishop David Morgan conducting. The family will greet friends at the church that day from 10-11 a.m.
Memorials can be made to The Missionary Fund or Humanitarian Aid Fund for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Crawfordsville Ward.
