No services are scheduled at this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Cass County Democrat Missourian, Cynthia Hancock Jan. 25, 2014 Cynthia Hancock, 57, of Dewey, Ariz., a native of Kansas City, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. She graduated valedictorian in 1974 from Midway High School in Cleveland and received a B.A. in teaching from Avila College. She continued to learn all her life, getting an M.A. in computer graphics, certification in school administration, and taking art and jewelry classes. She touched the lives of youth in Kansas City and Arizona through creativity and care as a computer graphics and art teacher and had a special talent in working with at-risk teens. Since retirement, she has focused on her art, sewing, painting, silversmithing and creating mosaics. She kept her sense of adventure while camping, boating, traveling, and volunteering with the Red Cross and Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Cox, and her children, John and Maria, her parents, P.R. and Virginia Hancock, and siblings, Renee King, Tina Miller, and Prentice Hancock. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the United Service Organizations, Inc., (USO) or to the American Red Cross in her name.
