MILLER, David A. (Dave)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 David A. Miller, 72, of Dewey, Ariz., passed away suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, with his beloved wife, Mary, by his side. David was born in Elkhart, Ind., and grew up in Albuquerque, N.M. He served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then graduated from the University of Washington and received his master's degree from the University of New Mexico. He was a teacher in the Gadsden School District, Chaparral Middle School, where he retired from in 2005. Dave enjoyed keeping up with current events on television, and getting updates on his computers and tablets. He loved watching sci-fi shows such as "Star Trek" and loved reading about ancient Roman history. Dave loved his electronics and was a real "techie." He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Edgar Miller. He is survived by four brothers, Thomas and his wife Martha, Gregory and his wife Toni, Christopher Miller and Douglas Bischoff. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews; three stepchildren, Kim, Mike and Michele; and 10 grandchildren who adored him. A memorial service will be at a later date in Albuquerque, N.M.
