Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Tuesday, January 28, 2014 - Dorothy Hasslen Sosey of Annapolis, Md. died Jan. 24, 2014. She was born and raised in Minneapolis, she attended Macalaster College and graduated summa cum laude from the Business School of the University of Minnesota. After marrying L. Kern Sosey in 1939, she lived in St. Paul, Minn.; Sao Paulo, Brazil; St. Joseph, Mich. and Annapolis, Md. Dorothy is survived by children, Dr. Walter K. Sosey (Hilary), Lake Havasu City; Deedee Mahaffay (Dr. John), Annapolis, Md. and John R. Sosey, Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Scott Sosey, Las Vegas, Nev.; Laura Sosey Herbst (Troy), Las Vegas, Nev.; Todd P. Sosey, Las Vegas, Nev.; Meagan Mackin Amundson (Chad), Cockeysville, Md.; Darren J. Mackin (Anya), Denver, Colo.; Elizabeth Sosey, Boston Mass.; Samantha Sosey, Washington, D.C., Matthew Sosey, Milwaukee, Wis.; one step-grandchild, Elisabeth Mahaffay Clifford (Henry), Richmond, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Riley Herbst, Las Vegas, Nev. and three step-great-grandchildren, Will, Quinn and Emily Clifford, Richmond, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kern in 1999 and grandson, Timothy Kern Sosey in 1985. A family burial service will be in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
