Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 - Howard Edwin Evans III, 80, of Lake Havasu City, beloved husband of Haru (Judy) Evans for the past 53 years, passed away peacefully Jan. 23, 2014 surrounded by his family, the ones he laughed with, lived for and loved. Howard was born in Pittsburgh, Penn. and grew up in San Francisco, Calif. He served his country as a United States Marine from 1950 to 1971 and was still currently active with the Marine Corps League Detachment #757 in Lake Havasu City. He was also a member of the SGI-USA Las Vegas Branch and local VFW. Howard and Judy raised their five boys in Buena Park, Calif. where he worked for the United States Postal Service for 21 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a loving gentle man who devoted his life to his wife, family, friends and his country. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Howard is survived by his five sons, James Keith, of Brea, Calif., Karl Lee, of Lake Havasu City, Glenn Kenneth, of Fallbrook, Calif., Kelvin Eugene, of Fullerton, Calif., Norman Edward, of Chino Hills, Calif., and his seven grandchildren, Nicolas, Hailey, Jimmy, Nina, Tony, Malina and Violet. A viewing will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera Blvd. Lake Havasu City, Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m., followed by a military funeral with honors at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the: Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society 875 N.
