Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, January 30, 2014 - George Davidson 91, passed away Jan. 26, 2014 in Lake Havasu City. He was born June 7, 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland to John and Georgina (Greenshields) Davidson. George worked as an auto mechanic and moved to Lake Havasu City 20 years ago; he volunteered at Havasu Regional Medical Center in the Oncology Department for 7 1/2 years. He loved traveling, Scottish Highland games, Scottish country dancing, photography, “Wee” jokes, and sailing on the Queen Elizabeth in 1964. He served as a petty officer in the British Navy for 4 1/2 years. George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth Davidson of Lake Havasu City; son, John Davidson (Susan), of Georgetown, Texas; daughters, Beverly Uresti (Elroy) of Oceanside, Calif., Brenda Boyce (Bill), of Oceanside, Calif. and Susan Gray (Don), of Spokane, Wash.; sister, Jean Cullen, of Scotland; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 31, at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel at 10 a.m. with words of comfort by Chaplin Kathy Kenney.
