Peter Ross Bellone, 75, died in his sleep Jan. 20, 2014, at his ranch in Hunt after telling his wife, Ivie, that he loved her and “thanks for another great day.” He was born May 5, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Pete was a big-hearted man who loved his wife, family, friends and his ranch. He took great joy in volunteering his time and was always available to lend a helping hand or share words of encouragement with his many friends and large extended family. Prior to moving to Arizona in 1982, Pete was a volunteer firefighter in Manawan, N.J., where he raised his four sons and established himself as a business leader. Since 2001, Pete has been a volunteer at Summit Healthcare in Show Low.
He is survived by his wife, Ivie Rae Bellone; four sons: Peter Bellone Jr. of Morganville, N.J., Scott Bellone of Matawan, N.J., Gary Bellone of Aberdine, N.J., and Todd Bellone of Matawan, N.J.; three stepsons: Jim Greenwell of Prescott, Frank Greenwell of Mesa and John Greenwell of Mesa; one brother, Art Bellone of Mesa; one sister, Peg Terwillinger of Pennfield, N.Y., 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
