Carl Austin Moody Jr. "Chip", former resident of Yuma, went home to his Heavenly Father on January 20, 2014 at age 68.
Carl was born to the late Carl and Catherine Moody on Feb 20, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. He met his wife, Connie, at Concordia University, Seward, NB. They married in 1968 and raised three daughters.
Carl taught and served as principal of Lutheran schools for 38 years. He was principal at Yuma Lutheran School from 1976-1984. Carl taught children with grace, humor and a love of science and math. He was much loved by his students and loved them in return.
Carl will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Connie, his daughters: Heidi Spiess, Jennifer Melwani (Sanjay) and Stacey O'Leary (Matthew), and his grandchildren: Samantha, Cameron and Aubrey, Nishal and Deven, and Austin (to be born May 2014), as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.
A memorial service was held on Sat, February 1, at 11am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Sunnyvale, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Research Institute or Camp Cocker Rescue (www.campcocker.com).
