Carl A. “Link” Elquest, III, who was born July 17, 1947 in Phoenix, passed away quietly in his Payson home Feb. 1, 2014.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Link worked for APS for 43 years, most recently as operations supervisor.
He never met a stranger and was loved by friends and co-workers alike. Link is survived by his wife, Janet, whom he married Oct. 17, 1987; children, Jason Elquest (Michelle), Karen McGuire (Robert), Matthew DeFord (Kelly), Sara Davis (Nathan) and Ann Spain (Brian); 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and his sister, Joan Barbor (Fred).
An avid hunter and fisherman, Link was accompanied by his co-pilot and loving dog, Bo, for nearly five years. Family and friends will celebrate Link’s life from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 in the Events Hall of Mazatzal Casino in Payson. No flowers, please.
