ASHCROFT, Aletta Bernice

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/07/2014 Aletta Bernice Wheeler Ashcroft, 80, died Jan. 28, 2014 in Las Cruces, N.M. She was born Aug. 27, 1933 to Wilford Wheeler and Ida Hunt Wheeler in Waterflow, N.M. She was married to Clyde Sterling Ashcroft Sept. 11, 1954. She is survived by her husband, Clyde S Ashcroft; children: Ronald Karl Ashcroft (Christine), Annette Marie Ashcroft, Bernice Arater (Charles),Cynthia Steele (Brian), Sheryl Ashcroft, Sterling Ashcroft (April); 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Emily Ashcroft, parents Wilford and Ida Wheeler, siblings and spouses: Rose and Kenneth Washburn, Ethel and Eugene Cardon and Lloyd and Mary Wheeler. Services were held Feb. 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2915 E. Idaho Ave Las Cruces, NM 88005, service followed and were officiated by Bishop Daniel Payne. Interment was held Feb. 3 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home handled arrangements.
