Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Sandra Slagle May 27, 1947 - January 16, 2014 Sandra Slagle passed away peacefully on January 16, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Erle “Bubba” Slagle, and her son Andy Slagle. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday January 23, 2014 at 10am at Vistoso Funeral Home. Sandy and Bubba met in late 1983 and instantly knew that they had found something wonderful in each other. Although Bubba knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Sandy, Sandy as only she could do told him she was quitting her job, pulling her son out of school, marry her and he was going to move them down to San Diego, CA (and he did). They were married on August 4, 1984. They moved the family down to San Diego while Bubba was stationed at Miramar Naval Base. They were both very active in the squadron and met lifelong friends and shared some great experiences. In early 1987 Bubba was transferred to Point Mugu, and they lived in Camarillo, Ca until 1993. Sandy was very avtive with many charities and was the lead Marketing Director for the United Way of Ventura County. After Bubba retired from the Navy, they moved to Seattle, Wa. where they enjoyed their retired years. In 2000 they moved to Portland, OR as Bubba took a position with Rockwell Collins. They then moved to Tuscon, AZ in 2010 to finally retire and enjoy the wonderful life they had both worked so very hard to build. Sandy was always so optimistic and so full of life that she touched the lives of anyone she met, and always with a huge hug. As she would always say in times of trouble, lets "Reevaluate and adjust" as well as "I have no enemies" With a smile so gleeming and infectious it would fill the hearts of all in her presence , she was a true Free Spirit and that spirit will never be forgotten.
