Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Susan B Bartlett June 16, 1937 - January 27, 2014 Susan Louise Blanchard Bartlett, born June 16, 1937 in Springfield, Mass. Loving wife and caregiver to husband Doug; mother to Laura, Russell, and Sharon; grandmother to Jessica and James Moorhead, Andrew and Carla Bartlett; and sister to Martha Trammell. Susan attended Queens College, then SUNY Potsdam for several years before graduating from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial and Finishing School. Susan was an insurance industry professional for over 35 years. She was the office manager at the James A. Lent Insurance Agency in Dayton, Ohio, until her retirement after 25 years of service. Then she and Doug moved to Saddlebrooke in Tucson. She remained involved in many activities following her retirement. She helped to organize the League of Women Voters chapter in Saddlebrooke; served on the altar guild and in other capacities at St.Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, and tried to learn Spanish. Susan loved hiking, the outdoors, and trips to National Parks. She enjoyed music and loved going to the opera. She treasured the peace and beauty of her home in Saddlebrooke and the sunny skies of Arizona. She enjoyed her exercise classes and all of her friends. She loved to cook and entertain, and her baking was renowned. Reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble were among Susan's favorite pastimes. She was a devoted wife and caregiver, loving mother, and generous friend. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Casa de la Luz Hospice Foundation.
