Our beloved Luella Williams, 88 years old, passed into our Lord's loving arms on Jan. 21, 2014, at the Lund Family Hospice Home in Gilbert, Ariz. Luella was born on Oct. 5, 1925, in Melrose, Minn., to Herman and Margaret Hinnenkamp. She was the sixth-oldest of 12 children.
Luella moved from Minnesota to Chula Vista, Calif., in 1954, where she was employed by Safeway for 30 years. After retirement she relocated to Chino Valley, Ariz., Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Gilbert, Ariz. She was a founding member off the Sunrise Senior Living Home, where she resided at the time of her death.
Luella was a very social lady and loved by all. She loved traveling, photography, painting, music and dancing. She performed with the Classy Chassis for many years in the Prescott area. She volunteered at the VA Hospital in Prescott. She loved good food and was an excellent cook. She had a love for life and would light up a room as soon as she walked in. She also enjoyed giving and receiving warm, loving hugs.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband Harold Williams; her parents; and siblings Rosella Wieber, Erwin Hinnenkamp, Lucille Loecken, Walter Hinnenkamp and Hildegard Knops. Surviving siblings are brothers Arthur Hinnenkamp, Herman Hinnenkamp, Wilfred Hinnenkamp and Harold Hinnenkamp of Minnesota, and sisters Virginia Caspers of Chula Vista and Margaret Eiynck of Gilbert, along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Luella's life will be on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunrise Senior Living Home, 580 South Gilbert Road, Gilbert, Ariz. Burial will take place at a later date in Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita, Calif.
