Brad Trevathan
July 26, 1995 - January 31, 2014
Bradely Michael Trevathan, of Safford, returned to his Father in Heaven January 31, 2014, at the age of 18. Born in Sierra Vista on July 26, 1995, to Jamie Cuffee and Thomas Trevathan, Brad spent his early life in Benson. He moved to Safford with his family at the age of 10 where he attended Thatcher and later Safford schools. Brad was very athletic and participated in a variety of sports including football, baseball, track and the sport he came to most love‒soccer. Brad was a member of the AYSO U19 championship-winning soccer team “Purple D” this past fall.
As a youth, Brad was active in scouting and held a variety of positions in the Young Men’s organization of the Safford LDS 2nd Ward. Throughout his teenage years Brad worked at Thriftee, Sonic, Denny’s, Little Caesar’s, New Insulation Concepts (with his step-father, Travis), and most recently as a sales rep for HerbaLife, which became his passion.
Brad had an infectious smile and was almost always surrounded by his many friends. He had a great love for music that he shared with his mother. He was a loving big brother, a thoughtful son and an instant friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed working out and demonstrating feats of strength to all who would watch. He found every opportunity possible to show off his “muscles”.
Brad leaves behind: his parents, Jamie and Travis Quinn; step-mother, Jennifer Trevathan of Benson; brothers, Delen Trevathan and Bridger Quinn of Safford and Wesley Sinclair of Silverdale, Washington; sisters, Jacee Quinn of Safford and Harley and Kristi Trevathan also of Silverdale; grandmother, Pansy Cuffee (Nana Penny) of Benson; grandfather, Gordon Long of Benson; grandfather, Paul Trevathan of Kingston, Washington; step-grandparents, Brent and Sheila Quinn of Thatcher; girlfriend, Jazmyne Guerrero of Safford; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will dearly miss him. He was preceded in death by: his father, Tom Trevathan; grandfather, Elijah Cuffee; and grandmother, Melissa Long. Brad and his father were members of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe of Washington State.
Funeral services for Brad will be conducted Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at the Safford LDS Stake Center by Chris Murphy of the Safford Second Ward. The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home and Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the Safford LDS Stake Center Relief Society Room.
