TRICKEY, Macky Roberts


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/11/2014 Macky Roberts Trickey, 83, died Feb. 5, 2014, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Texas, the son of Charles T. and Mary Ola Roberts Trickey. Macky was a rancher all of his life and never retired from it. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a major in animal husbandry and a minor in wildlife biology. Immediately after graduation, he was sent to Korea and served for three years as a first lieutenant. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and building things. He is survived by his sons: Macky Jr. (Kim), Ethan (Lisa) and Dan (Rhonda), all of St. Johns; daughters: Jennifer (Randy) Kartchner of Eagar and Kelly (Randy) Davis of Mountain Home, Utah; sisters Peggy Northcutt of Dallas, Texas, and Lynn Waldron, Allstead, N.H.; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Macky was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers (Charles and Jerry) and one sister. Graveside services were held Feb. 10 at the Eagar Cemetery. Military Honors were performed by American Legion Posts #30 and #130, Springerville and Concho. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
